I was so nervous to send Mourn and Shatter out into the universe that I could barely type, but I finally found the words that went missing.

For the last two and a half years, I’ve written the Nine Kingdoms books on my phone, after my kids went to bed, on airplanes, and during coffee breaks from my day job (also writing, but a very different kind). 

I started out wanting to write the series that I most wanted to read. I’ve read and edited these books so many times that I can’t believe I still love them. But I do love them. And I am SO grateful that you love them, too. 

I’m in awe of indie authors who do everything beautifully: writing, social media, promotion, covers, videos, and all the rest. Frankly, I love the writing and struggle with the rest of it.

That means these books mostly find readers the way you found them—because someone said something.
